It was a rough weekend to be a rapper named after a firearm: Not one but two MCs were arrested on unrelated charges this past weekend. Kelly, who was just arrested back in August, was jammed up again, this time in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he performed at State Theatre,for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, no doubt corresponding to his "Lace the Fuck Up" flash-mob fan "movement." After paying a whopping $100 bond, the Cleveland rapper was released the next morning, at which time he promptly tweeted [Link] about the experience, saying he was shocked [Link] that his cellmates in lockup recognized him. Cory Gunz wasn't so lucky: his father,rap vet Peter Gunz, told MTV this weekend that the Young Money rapper was apprehended Saturday afternoon by Bronx, New York police, who were apparently tipped off by a phone call to the precinct. Peter said that an "illegal search" led police to a loaded gun in his son's bag. It's apparently his first offense, but as Mr. Gunz, Sr. said, "In New York, it's mandatory jail time." The minimum punishment for criminal possession of a loaded firearm is three and a half years' prison time - that's 350 precent longer than the time served by Weezy, the head of Gunz's label.
"This was a big mistake on my part," Gunz told the Daily News [Link]. "I didn't have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this."

Diddy’s Grammy Party Tickets Are $50,000 A Piece
If you didn’t get an invite to Sean “Diddy” Comb’s Grammy after-party, it’s probably for the best. TMZ reports that tickets for the post-Grammy affair at the Playboy Mansion could cost up to $50,000 each.

However, the steep price is for a good cause as Diddy will be donating the proceeds from the luxurious party to the Angelwish Foundation, which benefits children with HIV/AIDS.

The cheapest tickets to the black tie event start at $1,500 and go from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on the service an attendee requires. $50,000 buys the Monster Cabana package, which includes buffet dinner, open bar, free bottle service and two cabanas for 20 VIP guests.

The 2012 Grammy’s will be held on February 12 in Los Angeles and will be hosted by LL Cool J. Kanye West leads all artists with seven nominations.

The DOH stopped by Jay-Z's Manhattan club (he also has one in Atlantic City) on Thursday night, where, according to public records, inspectors dinged the hot-spot with 69 violation points.

Among the infractions: Cooked food not being maintained at 140 degrees Farenheit or above; cold food items' temperature was warmer than 41 degrees (smoked fish and certain vacuum-sealed packages need to be 38 degrees or cooler); the appropriate thermometer was not being used to ascertain the various temperatures; insufficient or no refrigerated or hot holding equipment to keep foods during cooking, cooling, reheating and holding; a food worker did not use a proper utensil to eliminate bare-hand contact with food that was going to be served cold; and personal cleanliness was found inadequate (no hair nets, etc.).
According to the New York Post, raw chicken, shrimp and turkey-burger patties were refrigerated at a mere 60 degrees; cooked mashed potatoes had fallen to 89 degrees; cooked turkey burgers and 10 pounds of rice were being kept at 67 degrees; and a cook was mixing salsa with bare hands.


But though the restaurant was listed as "closed" on the DOH restaurant-inspection information site as of Saturday, a rep for the 40/40 Club assures us that they were back in business by Friday night.
"The 40/40 Club was never closed during regular business hours," the rep told E! News. "It was business as usual through the opening weekend. There was a blown motor in a walk-in refrigerator that was fixed early in the morning allowing the club to be opened on the same day."
The DOH website now notes only two violations, meaning the staff hustled to get things back in working order and boost their rating from the equivalent of a C to an A when inspectors returned on Friday.
