Pop Icon Whitney Houstons Funeral To Be Streamed

Whitney Houston's funeral will be held today (18 Feb 2012) in her home town of Newark, New Jersey. Fans and stars are expected to pay tribute to Whitney Houston who was found unconscious in a bathtub at the Beverley Hills Hotel last weekend.
The service will take place at New Hope Baptist Church and this is actually where Houston sang in a gospel choir with her mother Cissy when she was only 11-years-old. Already fans have been gathering outside to write messages and lay flowers. The ceremony itself will be private and by invitation only. Family friend Reverend Jesse Jackson told Sky News that Cissy, who had a strong faith, wanted to bring her daughter home: 'I think the parents at some point just wanted to just have her for themselves for a moment. She's been out there so long, and people had her all these years. I think they finally wanted to reduce the circus atmosphere and make it about the church.' Stevie Wonder, Kevin Costner and godmother Aretha Franklin are all expected to make appearances at the funeral, whilst one camera will be allowed inside the church in order to stream footage of the ceremony.
Fans who want to bid farewell to Whitney Houston will be able to watch her private funeral online. CBSSF.com and CBSNews.com will begin streaming the funeral service starting an hour before the actual service begins at 9:00am PST/12:00pm EST.
BET and sister network Centric will cover the funeral during its special "Live: The Homegoing of Whitney Houston,” starting at 11:30 a.m. Eastern
Fans can also watch Fox News, HLN and MSNBC for live coverage.
